As I reflect upon my teaching of science, it is evident that I incorporate inquiry, math and technology within my lessons. I realize that I struggle with finding ways to incorporate engineering practices and challenges within my lessons. As I contemplated what I wanted to do to move my teaching forward I considered how important it would be for my students to have time to or opportunities to engage in engineering practices. I wanted to find images that captured the concept that fit my big idea of Genius Engineering. The imagesbelow capture how I see and understand engineering. I was also inspired by the this quote

"We are embarked as pioneers upon a new
science and industry in which our problems
are so new and unusual that it behooves no
one to dismiss any novel idea with the
statement, "it can't be done."
-William E. Boeing
